Over 200 scientists have signed a petition to the UN calling for protection from the electromagnetic radiation of the modern devices, reports International Business Times. According to experts, all users of tablets, laptops and smartphones are included in the risk group.

The radiation from those devices leads to damage in the DNA of the cells and can even cause premature death, according to Blitz.

According to an expert in the field of electromagnetic radiation from Columbia University Medical Center, Martin Blank, these devices can even increase the number of cancer cases.

Scientists have asked the UN to formulate international safety standards on electromagnetic radiation and to promote greater awareness in society about the risks of using wireless devices.
